The Baltimore Ravens continue to ride the stellar play of Lamar Jackson, who has been performing at an MVP level week in and week out.
After leading the Ravens to a thrilling 35-34 “Thursday Night Football” win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Jackson has distanced himself from the competition and is now the betting favorite to win the MVP award once again, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
If Jackson captures the MVP, it would mark his third such honor at just 27 years old—a remarkable achievement. Despite his accolades, Jackson remains focused on one goal: a Super Bowl championship. This week, he’s preparing for a crucial Week 12 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who currently sit atop the AFC North.
Before turning his attention to the Steelers, Jackson received yet another well-deserved recognition: he was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.
This also marks Jackson’s 13th Player of the Week award, officially surpassing Justin Tucker’s previous record of 12. With this honor, Jackson now holds the most Player of the Week awards in Ravens history, further solidifying his legendary status in Baltimore.
The Ravens trailed 21-7 in the second half but stormed back to take a 28-21 lead, scoring 21 unanswered points, largely thanks to the consistent heroics of Jackson, who made plays with both his arm and his legs.
The former Louisville star finished the night completing 75.8% of his passes for 290 yards, four touchdowns and added 33 rushing yards. He also posted a remarkable 141.4 passer rating.
While Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase also put up incredible performances in this matchup, Jackson led his team to victory, making him a deserving recipient of the honor.
On the season, Jackson has been nothing short of spectacular, completing 69.1% of his passes for 2,669 yards, 24 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He has also rushed for 538 yards and two touchdowns, adding to his already impressive numbers.
Despite his remarkable season, Jackson holds a 1-3 record against the Pittsburgh Steelers, largely due to missed games from injury. He also has a four-to-seven touchdown-to-interception ratio in those matchups. As a result, this upcoming game could either solidify Jackson’s MVP-worthy season or hinder his progress in a major way.
