Jerry Jones comes in defense of Micah Parsons after the latter received criticism for his statements amid a loss to Philadelphia Eagles.
In a recent advancement, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has come in defense of linebacker Micah Parsons. Parsons has come under fire for his comments which were understood as a jab at the current coach Mike McCarthy.
The Dallas Cowboys lost yet another game at poorly built AT&T Stadium to go 3-6 to the season. The chances of âAmericaâs Teamâ making it to the playoffs have reduced to 1% as per The Athletic playoff predictor. Ahead of the season, Jones had acknowledged that they were âall-inâ and looking to end a longstanding drought. However, ten weeks into the season, the Cowboys are ravaged by internal disputes, with former players calling the team out, and a dying roster depth.
After the game, Parsons openly made a comment that could be perceived as a jibe at McCarthy. He acknowledged that he didnât play for McCarthy, he wanted to win it for players who were nearing the end of their careers. Furthermore, Parsons noted that he wanted to win the title for them. Parsons later blamed the media for blowing things out of proportion and taking his words out of context.
Recent reports suggest Jerry Jones, the 82-year-old owner of the Cowboys, reverberated Parsonsâ statement. They indicated that Jones said Parsonsâ statements were aimed at the players and not intended as a critique of McCarthy.
Jones seems to build upon the âall-inâ ideology heâs been projecting all season long. Jones, long criticized by the fans for his decisions, added heâs been keeping tabs diligently. The owner coming in to support the player also further amplified Marcus Spearsâ allegations. Spears has accused the Parsons of throwing the coach under the bus to stay in Jonesâ good books.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Micah Parsons’ postgame comments Sunday about Mike McCarthy: “It wasn’t meant as a critique of the coach. It was meant as a concern for veteran players, like Zack Martin, who might not have that much more left in their career. That’sâŠ

Mike Greenberg suggests Micah Parsons trade after salary cap mishandling
NFL analyst Mike Greenberg didnât hold back in criticizing the Dallas Cowboysâ financial approach, especially the handling of the salary cap by Jerry Jones. Greenberg argued that Jones has âcompletely mishandledâ the teamâs cap strategy.
With contracts totaling over $386 million, tied up in players like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and potentially Micah Parsons, Greenberg believes the Cowboys are now âin a terrible position.â Greenberg suggested that the team consider trading Parsons as a potential solution. Greenberg believes that time warrants the trade despite the whole thing being unconventional.
Mike Greenberg on Micah Parsons: “I’m going to start calling him Herschel Parsons⊠I’m not saying they should trade Micah Parsons because he isn’t a great player. I’m saying they should trade Micah Parsons because they have painted themselves into a terrible position.” pic.twitter.com/q7gK9jdvaX
