It felt like the Dallas Cowboys put up one of the most pathetic offensive displays in NFL history in Sunday’s 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Getting the start for the injured Dak Prescott, who nearly became collateral damage in the game thanks to the Cowboys’ negligence, Cooper Rush had a devilish outing. He didn’t surpass 45 passing yards despite dropping back 23 times and averaged an impossible 2.0 yards per attempt.

Two Brandon Aubrey field goals were all Dallas had to show for after four quarters, but they may have had a touchdown in the first half if not for their own stadium working in cahoots with the Eagles.

Rush aimed to find Lamb in the end zone but No. 88 didn’t even put his hands up. It seemed in real time that Lamb thought the pass was intended for Jake Ferguson, but the CBS broadcast caught Lamb after the play pointing to his eyes, seemingly to indicate he couldn’t see the ball.

It turns out Lamb’s vision was impaired by the sunlight shining through the windows at AT&T Stadium. Asked about the play after the game, Lamb sent a clear message to Jerry Jones about the stadium’s reoccurring defect.

Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb demands AT&T Stadium change after sun controversy

Hopefully Lamb’s answer strikes a chord with Jerry Jones. That might be wishful thinking, however, as Jones made a noteworthy – and delusional – soundbite himself about AT&T Stadium’s sun controversy.

“Well let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one?,” Jones said when asked about putting up curtains at the stadium. “Are you kidding me? Everybody has got the same thing. Every team that comes in here has the same issues. I’m saying, the world knows where the sun is. You get to know that almost a year in advance. Someone asked me about the sun. What about the sun? Where’s the moon.”

This is not the first time this season Jones has gotten defensive to the media and dismissed a very relevant question. He clearly feels the pressure, but that won’t do anything to quell fans’ concerns about Dallas’ receivers getting blinded at key moments in games.

It happened in Week 6 while the Cowboys were getting bludgeoned by the Lions when Jalen Tolbert lost a Dak Prescott deep ball thanks to the sun shining through the AT&T Stadium windows.

It’s one thing that Jones had the multi-billion dollar stadium built into the direct line of the sun. That he refuses to merely install curtains while the sun frequently works as a detriment to his team is arrogant even for his standards.

In most cases, a team’s WR1 who is spectacular and just got paid asking for change would light a fire under ownership to install curtains. As of Sunday night, Jones refuses to budge seemingly out of arrogance.

If that is not a perfect encapsulation of why the Cowboys are what they are this season, then nothing is.
