Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is dealing with a serious wrist injury that he claims was re-aggravated during his controversial arrest two months ago.

Before Miami’s Week 1 home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8, Tyreek Hill was taken out of his car and placed in handcuffs by officers of the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Bodycam footage of the incident was later released to the public. The arresting officers faced immense backlash for their handling of the incident, as Hill was completely calm and showed no aggression or threatening behavior whatsoever:

“He said it’s something that he’s really being dealing with all season long. He said it first started in training camp, but then he said it got re-aggravated when he was arrested right before the opening game of the season. He was taken to the ground by police…he said that that’s where the further damage was done.

“Tyreek said that he’s had an MRI and that the MRI showed that he has a torn ligament that he said that he’s playing through. He said ‘I just really don’t know what to do, because I’ve never really been injured before. I’m going to keep playing. Nothing’s going to stop me.”

One of the officers involved in the incident, 27-year veteran Danny Torres, was placed on administrative leave. Hill called for the department to fire Torres, and there’s no update on where the investigation stands.

Over his first eight games of 2024, Hill has caught 34 passes fo 446 yards and one touchdown. The eight-time Pro Bowler has seen a drop in production due to Tua Tagovailoa’s absence, as Miami’s starting QB missed four games because of a concussion.

The 2-6 Dolphins aren’t completely finished yet, but they can probably afford one more loss at most to sneak into the postseason. The 5-5 Denver Broncos occupy the AFC’s final playoff spot with a 5-5 record.

After visiting the Rams, Miami will head back home to host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Dolphins Need Vintage Tyreek Hill vs. Rams

If the Dolphins are to upset the surging Rams on the road today, they’ll need Hill to bring his A-game. This game will likely be a back-and-forth shootout, so the likes of Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert must step up.
