Things have gotten so bad in Dallas that fans want their now-retired former quarterback to come back to save the team.
The tough start to this Dallas Cowboys season just keeps getting tougher, now with a crushing defeat at the hands of the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. With quarterback Dak Prescott believed to be out for the long term, the Cowboys were forced to turn to a combination of backups Cooper Rush and Trey Lance in this huge NFC East matchup, and the results have been far less than optimal.

By the end of a brutal third quarter, the Cowboys trailed by a score of 28-6 and fans had already seen enough. They were fed up with not just one but both of the team’s stand-in quarterbacks, and rather than thinking of the future, some viewers were looking way backwards when it comes to identifying a replacement at the position.
Check out this sign hoisted by one Cowboys fan late in Sunday’s game, which appeared to have been improvised mid-game.
Clearly, this fan was wise to bring some arts and crafts supplies to the game, as this would have been a tough message to predict when making a sign before the game. Romo was actually on hand for the game as a member of the CBS broadcast team, but was more than apprehensive when responding to the call.
Jokes aside, it’s hard to know where the Cowboys go from here. With Sunday’s loss essentially certain at this point, their record will fall to 3-6, more or less marking the end of any playoff hopes in what was expected to be a strong season. As they say, there’s always next year, but for some Cowboys players and coaches, next year might mean a home other than Dallas.
