The Miami Dolphins are trying to turn their season around, but with a 2-6 record, they are running out of time to do so. And ahead of their Week 10 contest against the Los Angeles Rams, the team was dealt a worrying injury update regarding superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
While the 2024 campaign has been a rough one for the Dolphins offense as a whole, thanks in large part to Tua Tagovailoa’s four-game absence due to a concussion, Hill has largely managed to remain the team’s top producer on offense, as he has 34 receptions for 446 yards and a touchdown on the year
The Dolphins are hoping that Tagovailoa and Hill can get back in sync moving forward, but the talented wideout may not even be able to suit up in Week 10. That’s because he popped up on the injury report on Friday with a wrist injury that ultimately prevented him from practicing.
The good news for the Dolphins is that they will be playing on Monday Night Football in Week 10, so they have an extra day to allow Hill to rest this new injury and get healthy. But the fact that he didn’t take the field at all on Friday isn’t exactly a good sign.
If Hill ends up being unable to play against the Rams, that would force Jaylen Waddle and Odell Beckham Jr. into bigger roles on offense. Running backs De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert are frequently utilized in the passing game too, as is veteran tight end Jonnu Smith.
The hope obviously is that Hill ends up being able to play, but for the time being, his status is looking murky. He’ll have one more shot to take the practice field on Saturday, so it will be worth seeing if he manages to participate in that, or else his Week 11 status may truly be worth worrying about.
