The “Thursday Night Football” showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens was a fantastic one.
The AFC North battle featured a pair of star quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow. The Bengals signal-caller threw four touchdown passes and Jackson also threw four touchdowns as the Ravens escaped with a 35-34 victory.
The Bengals scored with less than a minute left, but Zac Taylor decided to go for two to try and win the game. The attempt failed, although it was marred in controversy with a pair of no-calls on the play.
Clete Blakeman’s crew missed some key penalties that would’ve at least given the Bengals another chance to take the lead, and it has sparked plenty of conversation.
After the game, LASIK.com posted a clip of the play with an interesting offer for the referees: Free LASIK.
“Better Vision. Better Calls. Yes, we’re still offering NFL refs free LASIK,” the post on X read.
LASIK.com even has a “Nominate a Referee” program.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the integrity of sports through improved officiating, LASIK.com is excited to introduce a new initiative that empowers sports fans to nominate referees and officials for our “Better Vision, Better Calls” program,” it read on the website.
It’s quite the offer for referees and fans, although later in the thread the user of the account admitted they are a Bengals fan. The initial post by LASIK has gone viral, garnering over 400,000 views in less than two hours.
Fans who nominate a referee are eligible for $1,000 off a procedure from LASIK, as it reads on the website.
All in all, it was another frustrating ending to a thrilling NFL game, and fans are certainly not happy with the calls.
