It’s been a few days since the 2024 Presidential Election that saw Donald Trump get elected 47th President of the United States. But millions of Americans are still extremely sore about the outcome and some are taking out that frustration on some of the most seemingly benign social media posts.
According to the Daily Mail, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce – the well-known boyfriend of pop icon Taylor Swift – took to Instagram only about a few hours after it was announced that Trump had won the election to post some photos of the Chiefs’ thrilling win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from Monday Night Football. Despite being a completely normal post from Kelce, many of the immediate replies to the post accused him of making the post “poorly timed” for making it in the aftermath of the hotly-contested election.
“Travis pls not right now we’re mourning,” one user demanded.
“Read the room Travis,” wrote another.
“bb love you but feel like maybe this could have been rescheduled to post any day but today,” a third wrote.
Naturally there were no shortage of Donald Trump supporters that saw the “read the room” replies and decided to have some fun at their expense, mocking them over Trump’s winning effort.
Taylor Swift was one of America’s biggest supporters of Kamala Harris in terms of her global following. So seeing their icons preferred candidate lose the election was undoubtedly a bitter pill to swallow.
Kelce, on the other hand, kept his hands free of the election, never making any real statements on the election on voicing any political opinions to get either side of the campaign interested in him.
