The Kansas City Chiefs put on quite a show against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.”
Not only did Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes quickly bounce back from what looked like a serious injury after rolling his ankle in the fourth quarter, he also led the team to a 30-24 win in overtime.
As the rain poured down at Arrowhead Stadium, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce put up a season-high 14 catches, a single-game record the 35-year-old All-Pro, for 100 yards.
Cheering Kelce on at GEHA Field, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who flew to Kansas City after wrapping up the U.S. leg of her Eras concert tour in Indianapolis the night before. Joining Swift for the game, her mother, Andrea Swift, and brother, Austin Swift. They all sat together with Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce.
In a separate suite sat Mahomes’ family, including his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and mother, Randi Mahomes. However, during the third quarter, Brittany made her way into Kelce’s box.
Brittany, 29, joining Swift, 34, in her suite turned some heads on the night before the 2024 presidential election. While the Kansas City Current co-owner already insinuated on social that she supports former President Donald Trump, her mother-in-law made a strong public display of which candidate she’s voting for before kickoff.
Randi wore a MAGA hat and said in a video posted on social media, “Make America Great Again! Let’s do it!” After seeing the video of Mahomes’ mom, one fan posted, “After seeing the video, one fan commented, “I bet Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes aren’t friends anymore.”
Swift fully endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in Sept. Following her endorsement, Trump posted on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.
But despite their political differences, Brittany and Swift remain friends and they came together to power through what turned out to be a nail-biter of a game on Monday night.
Swift’s tour is on a brief hiatus before opening in Toronto, therefore, fans can except to see the “Karma” singer back at Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs (8-0) host the Denver Broncos (5-4) in Week 10 next week.
