BREAKING: Pittsburgh Steelers expected to acquire a $25 million wide receiver by the trade deadline..

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still looking for a wide receiver after missing out on several targets in recent months.

They first aimed for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk but then couldn’t land Davante Adams, who was traded by the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets.

With the NFL trade deadline coming up on November 5, general manager Omar Khan has limited time to find a strong wide receiver that the team needs. While Pittsburgh has George Pickens, it lacks a reliable No. 2 option.

Given this situation, CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards predicts that the Steelers will acquire veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen from the Carolina Panthers by the trade deadline.

“Carolina already moved on from Diontae Johnson this week,” Edwards wrote. “It would not be a surprise if Jadeveon Clowney or Thielen were next on the chopping block.

This season is lost for the Panthers, and acquiring draft capital that can help them in the future should be the objective. Pittsburgh is lacking in pass game options, so Thielen would be a synergistic relationship.”

At 34 years old, Thielen is not part of the Panthers’ long-term plans as the team looks to rebuild, making it logical for them to trade him.

While Thielen may not be a flashy addition at this stage of his career, he would still provide the Steelers with a solid upgrade, as he has more experience than anyone they currently have. He would be a dependable target for quarterback Russell Wilson.

Thielen would likely come at a low cost, with a late Day 3 draft pick probably enough to bring him in. Additionally, he has one more year left on his three-year, $25 million contract, which means he could continue to support Pittsburgh in 2025 as well.
