TRENDING: Russell Wilson Admits Big Difference Between First Two Starts With Steelers..

Russell Wilson appears to be starting to find his groove under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The AFC North squad improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 with Wilson as its starting quarterback in the 2024 NFL regular season after defeating the New York Giants at home on Monday, 26-10.

During the postgame press conference, Wilson told reporters that he felt more comfortable against the Giants than when the Steelers hosted Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in Week 7.

“Russell Wilson said the difference from his first start last week to his second tonight was that he felt ‘more fluid’ — noted he hasn’t missed many games in his life and it takes some time to get settled into a game rhythm after missing time,” reported Brooke Pryor of ESPN following the Steelers’ Week 8 victory.

The 35-year-old Wilson was more accurate with his passes against the Giants than when he made his Steelers debut versus the Jets. In the Giants game, Wilson went 20-of-28 for 278 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions. Against the Jets, he went 16-fo-29 for 264 passing yards, two touchdowns, and zero picks thrown.

Wilson did not see action during the first six weeks of the season due to a calf issue, but he’s settling in nicely as the Steelers QB1, as further evidenced by his performance opposite the Giants.

Wilson and the Steelers will get a much-deserved rest with a bye in Week 9 before getting back to action in Week 10 against the red-hot Washington Commanders in Landover.
