Latest move hints Cowboys star is going to rob Jerry Jones blind with new deal!

No, we’re not talking about Micah Parsons.

It is way too early to look ahead to the offseason, but the Dallas Cowboys’ season is on the verge of spiraling out of control. If they lose to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and fall to 3-5, attention will shift from a potential playoff appearance to getting a high pick in the 2025 draft.

Recent offseasons in Dallas have been just as tiresome as the regular season. The front office prolonged CeeDee Lamb’s extension until the very end of training camp and Dak Prescott didn’t sign until hours before the 2024 season-opener.

Micah Parsons’ new deal with headline the 2025 offseason. Those negotiations will in all likelihood mirror that of Lamb and Prescott in terms of being dragged out. Parsons may even follow Lamb’s lead in staging a holdout.

That doesn’t even account for the Cowboys’ laundry list of free agents and other extension candidates. Luckily, the franchise has a lot of money coming off the books, but that won’t stop a particular star player from taking Jerry Jones to the contract cleaners.

Latest move hints Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey wants a new contract

Cowboys all-world kicker Brandon Aubrey has new representation. He is now represented by Athletes First and agent Todd France, France announced on Instagram. You might remember it was France who negotiated Dak Prescott’s record-setting contract.

Former Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Ravens running back Derrick Henry are among France’s star clients. Henry has earned a whopping $65.407 million in his career, per Spotrac. Pretty impressive for a running back. Arguably the best defensive player of his generation, Donald made over $157 million in his career.

If history repeats itself, Aubrey is primed to rob the Joneses blind. The kicker? (pun not intended). Aubrey isn’t a free agent until 2026. The Cowboys’ current regime normally waits until a star’s rookie deal expires to negotiate an extension.

Luckily for Aubrey, he doesn’t play a premier position, so Dallas may have incentive to sign him ahead of time. On a historic pace over his first two seasons, Aubrey should absolutely reset the kicker market.

Chiefs star Harrison Butker currently makes the most at the position both in terms of annual average value ($6.4 million) and total guaranteed money ($17.75 million). While Butker has a longer track record of success relative to Aubrey, the Cowboys star is the game’s premier kicker.

Since 2023 (Aubrey’s first year), no kicker has made more field goals than Aubrey’s 53. He was a perfect 10-for-10 on kicks beyond 50 yards and only missed two FGs all season.

There’s an argument to be made that Aubrey has been Dallas’ best player this season. He made a franchise record 65-yarder in Week 3 against the Ravens and would have tied the NFL record for longest field goal with a 66-yarder in Week 1 if not for a delay of game penalty.

Aubrey is going to get paid sooner than later and he is well within his rights to command a new deal as soon as the 2025 offseason.
