The Alabama Crimson Tide might not have their typical heavy dose of first-rounders this coming draft cycle. Still, one player who has seen consistent buzz in NFL circles has been offensive lineman Tyler Booker. In a recent mock draft from CBS Sports, Booker goes to the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 23 pick.
“Baltimore has always had an infatuation with Alabama players and that has continued in the year since former general manager Ozzie Newsome departed,” CBS Sports analyst Josh Edwards wrote. “Will that remain the case now that Nick Saban has vacated his post? Only time will tell, but the Ravens have a need at guard and Tyler Booker is one of the best available.”

In his third year with the Crimson Tide, Booker has become a captain, and he’s had an excellent season. He was even asked to fill in at left tackle earlier this season with Kadyn Proctor sidelined, and he played admirably well in that spot.
“I love being an offensive lineman because, naturally, I’m a protector, and that translates on the field,” Booker told Athlon Sports last month. “I hate to see Jalen get hit. As long as it’s up to me, Jalen won’t get hit. Jam and Justice won’t get hit. Jalen will have all the time in the world to get the ball off. I was born to be an offensive lineman.”
Booker is an incredibly hard worker who has relished the opportunity to serve as a captain for the Crimson Tide this fall, and it’s easy to see why NFL scouts are excited about him as a prospect in next year’s draft.
