While praising Russell Wilson, Stephen A. Smith claimed the Steelers now have “serious” chances of winning the Super Bowl because of him.
After finally being fed up with Kenny Pickett, the Pittsburgh Steelers made major changes to the quarterback room, starting with acquiring veteran Russell Wilson. And looks like, it worked out in their favor as they sit top in the AFC North with a 6-2 record. Stephen A. Smith seemed to be one step ahead in praising the veteran quarterback by highlighting their improved Super Bowl odds.
Wilson took over the starting role in Week 3, following the team’s 2-0 record under newly acquired backup Justin Fields. Considering the success the Steelers had under Fields, many were skeptical about the nine-time Pro Bowler taking over. But he won them over after winning four out of the last six games– bringing the Steelers among the Super Bowl contenders.
Being utterly impressed by Wilson’s comeback after his unsuccessful run in Denver, sports analyst Smith claimed that the Steelers now have “serious” chances of winning the Super Bowl this season. He labeled Pittsburgh as the most balanced team in the league, regarding their identity, overall health, and away from petty controversies.

With the new additions this offseason, the Steelers have built a solid offense and moving at the right pace. They are next up against the Washington Commanders in Week 10 on November 10 for a Sunday Night Football Game.
Russell Wilson ready to strategize for Super Bowl run while heading into bye week
Given the success the Super Bowl champion experienced in Pittsburgh in such a short span, many have come to realize that the only reason behind his failure in the Denver Broncos was head coach Sean Payton, who didn’t allow the veteran to be flexible with the offense.
Wilson has experience of playing before legends like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and others; but his ability became subject to scrutiny in the past few years. Those who attributed his poor performance to growing age have been silenced following the Steelers’ three consecutive victories.
They are now heading for a bye week, which would give the star quarterback some time to rest and strategize for the remaining season, recognizing that they are now legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
