Trevon Diggs Reveals Why He Provoked Confrontation with Cowboys Reporter

Dallas CB had words with local TV host after Sunday’s loss to the 49ers

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs made headlines following Sunday’s 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and not in a good way.

Following the final whistle, the 26-year-old defensive back sought out Mike Leslie of WFAA ABC 8 Dallas on his walk back to the locker room with the intention of confronting him about a tweet he posted during the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

Diggs didn’t take kindly to Leslie questioning the effort he put forth on a 43-yard reception by 49ers tight end George Kittle that put the 49ers in scoring position, and he got in the reporter’s face about the incident.

Twenty-four hours after the fact, Diggs seems to have zero regrets about his actions, which he recently revealed he felt was completely justified.

“I just felt like it was unnecessary,” Diggs said on “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast. “I just felt like he was trying to use my name for clicks. After the game I just happened to see it, I clicked on it and seen who it was and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s right here.’ So I went up to him and I just spoke how I felt.

“I just kind of let my emotions get the best of me. But at the end of the day, it still doesn’t make it right for anybody to be saying anything or just trying to throw dirt on your name and make it seem like you’re doing a bad job because I felt like I played my hardest game.”
