For much of the past two weeks, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys dominated the news after their blowout home loss to the Detroit Lions. Now that they were emerging from bye week, the playoff hopefuls were expected to give the inconsistent San Francisco 49ers a battle.
In the first half, the game was anything but high-scoring. The 49ers struggled to convert drives into the red zone and Dak Prescott threw an interception, but otherwise led his team to a lead. That lead stayed until the first 49ers drive in the third quarter.
Rookie running back Isaac Guerendo ran it through the middle to hand the San Francisco 49ers the lead. Now, with the need for America’s team to respond, Prescott started the next drive with short throws to his receivers. But they needed four yards shy on the next snap as their QB instantly rolled to his left.
He then squared his hips and threw a pass to CeeDee Lamb. The only problem with the play was that 49ers CB also knew who the intended receiver was and leaped into the air to intercept it with both his hands. To make matters worse, the 49ers capitalized on the next possession and scored to increase their lead.
INTERCEPTION! Deommodore Lenoir went up and got it for the @49ers 🙌

But it was not just the interceptions that proved fateful for the Dallas Cowboys. On the next two drives, the 49ers made life difficult for Prescott. They did not allow the highest paid player in NFL history to convert even a first down.
