Fans on social media had questions (and answers) after Dalvin Cook was shown drinking something on the bench ahead of the Cowboys ‘Sunday Night Football’ showdown vs. the 49ers this past weekend.
The veteran running back debuted for Dallas on Sunday after making a name for himself Minnesota, where he made four Pro Bowl teams while on the Vikings’ roster.
It was hoped that he would inject some offense, given that the team has had the least effective rushing system in the NFL, though he experienced a significant dip in form after a move to the New York Jets, where he averaged a career-low 3.2 yards per carry.
Cameras caught Cook taking a swig out of a small bottle before kickoff on Sunday night, with one of the commentators claiming he was “getting ready for this one.”
Check it out in the video below:
“Marshawn Lynch said he would take shots of Hennessy during the game,” someone recalled.
“Ginger shot,” a third suggested.
“Pickle shot,” a fourth contested.
“Lynch (SEA)would always take a shot of something before each game,” a fan wrote.
“Most likely a pickle juice,” someone surmised.
“Likely pickle or ginger shot without a label to avoid getting caught branding,” a comment read.
Dalvin Cook Hasn’t Quite Arrived
The Cowboys will have to wait to see how effective Cook can be in their rushing offense, having passed up on the opportunity to sign Derrick Henry in the offseason.
They will hope he can return to the form that saw him rush for over 1,100 yards a season from 2019 to 2022 after he registered six carries for 12 yards at an underwhelming two yards per carry in last night’s loss against the Niners.
The defeat leaves Dallas nursing a 3-4 record ahead of next Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons.
