The Baltimore Ravens were in cruise control heading into Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season. But just when it looked like they were going to score another win and extend their undefeated run, the Cleveland Browns flipped the script and took down Derrick Henry and company.
The Browns ended up pulling off a 29-24 upset win at home over the Ravens, who saw their five-game win streak end at the hands of a divisional rival.
Despite the Ravens’ loss to Cleveland, Henry’s girlfriend, Adrianna Rivas, sent a powerful message to the running back after the game.
“Win or lose, WE ARE PROUD OF OUR GUY,” Rivas shared via Instagram Story. “To God be the glory, always,” she added.
Henry got a season-low 11 carries in the Browns game but he still gathered 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on those touches. He now has 946 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 145 carries to go with 66 receiving yards and two scores on eight receptions.
The loss stings for the Ravens, especially since they got knocked out of the top place in the AFC North. But there is no reason for Baltimore to sound the alarm, as it is still very much in play not just to win the division but to get the top seed in the AFC as well.
The 5-3 Ravens can get back to their winning ways as soon as Week 9 when they lock horns with the Denver Broncos at home.
