Nick Bosa pulled a MAGA stunt while NBC interviewed 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy after defeating the Cowboys.
After taking a 28-18 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week, the San Francisco 49ers got back in the win column against the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”
Niners quarterback Brock Purdy completed 18-of-26 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown during the team’s 30-24 victory over Dallas at Levi’s Stadium on Oct. 27.
On National Tight End Day, it was only fitting that George Kittle went off and recorded six catches for 128 yards. While the 49ers defense got off to a slow start, they ultimately did a fantastic job of shutting the Cowboys down.
In the second quarter, Niners safety Ji’Ayir Brown intercepted Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott following a hit from Nick Bosa. In the third quarter, one of Prescott’s passes went right into Niners cornerback Deommodore Lenoir’s hands.
After the game, NBC’s Melissa Stark was interviewing Purdy, when Bosa decided to crash the party to send a quick message.
While some fans enjoyed seeing the 27-year-old show support toward Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, others wished he kept his political views away from the game. Amid a very contentious political election, Bosa must’ve known such a stunt would spark a fierce online debate.
Bosa later told reporters, “I’m not going to talk too much about it but I think it’s an important time.”
Ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, Bosa deleted several political posts including one tweet that called former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick “a clown,” ESPN reported. “I had to,” he said. “There is a chance I might end up in San Francisco.”
Next up, the 49ers are on a bye week before facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 10
