Cornerback Nazeeh Johnson and tight end Jody Fortson left the game early.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had a couple of injury notes to share following the team’s 27-20 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
“Nazeeh Johnson has a concussion, and then Jody Fortson hurt his right knee,” said Reid at the podium. “We’ll do some work on that, see what that is. Other than that, we’re pretty good. Pat got his ankle rolled up on a little bit, but he was fine as he went on.”
Joshua Williams and Chris Roland-Wallace both saw playing time when Johnson was no longer available to play in the game. As Fortson left the field, it was clear that he could not put weight on his injured right knee. Reporters in Las Vegas noted the tight end using crutches to exit the Chiefs’ visiting locker room at Allegiant Stadium.
Johnson registered five tackles before his injury. He will be a player to monitor as Kansas City turns the page to Week 9 and “Monday Night Football” against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
