Chiefs player Joe Thuney suffers embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, leaving him exposed during win over Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs guard Joe Thuney was mentioned in the broadcast, not for his efforts in their win over Las Vegas but for an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction late in the game.

On Sunday, the defending Super Bowl champions took down the struggling Raiders in a 27-20 victory in Sin City.

With his team up, 20-13, and the clock winding down to the final five minutes, the NC State product’s pants ripped. The tear ran across the posterior region of his left thigh, exposing his tights under the red game bottoms.

As the camera panned through the wardrobe malfunction, Kevin Harlan pointed it out on the broadcast, stating ‘Thuney’s got some torn trousers.’

While the incident made for a few seconds of hilarity, it did not affect Thuney’s performance, as he protected Patrick Mahomes and helped the team cruise to victory.

Mahomes completed 27 of 38 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Meanwhile, Travis Kelce tabbed 10 receptions for 90 yards and scored his first touchdown this season, keeping his team on top of the heap. Kareem Hunt added a touchdown on the ground and Xavier Worthy had a TD catch.

Kansas City outgained Las Vegas 334-228. The Chiefs converted 12 of 16 opportunities on third down for a 75 percent success rate, and the Raiders converted six of 13 third-down chances for a 46 percent success rate.

The win moved the Chiefs to a flawless 7-0 record in their quest for a three-peat.

Kansas City’s last loss came in the hands of the Raiders, who defeated them on Christmas Day in 2023. From there the Chiefs, would sweep all of their games and win the Super Bowl over San Francisco in February.

Mahomes and Co. look to keep their hot streak going when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 4.
