Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb shrugged off, avoiding any comment on HOF Troy Aikman’s admission that the team was lazy. The 25-year-old decided to embark on a word duel with the legendary player.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Aikman recently stirred up strong reactions with his criticism of the Dallas Cowboys. Aikman referred to the team as led by CeeDee Lamb, calling the group’s performance “lazy” and “terrible.” He expressed concern about the routes run by receivers and said they have to get a lot better.
CeeDee Lamb admitted that the team needs to get better overall, via Calvin Watkins of Dallas Morning News. However, Lamb didn’t want to add further regarding the recent comments by Troy Aikman, possibly to avoid a PR nightmare.
Got to be better overall… Next question.

The Dallas Cowboys hold a 3-3 record and have yet to secure a home victory this season, facing three consecutive losses at AT&T Stadium. In their most recent setback, a 47-9 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions, quarterback Dak Prescott, and the offense seemed out of sync, hindering the team’s ability to establish a steady rhythm.
The Cowboys are coming out of a bye week to face the San Francisco 49ers. Despite initial struggles and a losing record, the Niners are still a strong foe. The Cowboys would have to recalibrate their offense after a week of rejuvenation. A win at Levi’s Stadium is, however, not impossible – if they can score some early points and keep the momentum, they could stage a victory.
Dallas Cowboys starter Dak Prescott responds diplomatically to former QB Troy Aikman
Troy Aikman didn’t complain about the quarterback Dak Prescott, choosing to add suggestions on how receivers could run better routes to help Prescott. Prescott, 31, who commented recently, via Calvin Watkins chose to be very diplomatic about the whole situation.
Prescott acknowledged Troy Aikman’s role as an ESPN analyst which he aptly did with an unfiltered and honest response about the time. Prescott noted that he doesn’t want to create more drama or scope for division.
[W]hether he got personal, whether he went too far, once again the guy gets paid to do that and he’s doing a job. Once again, a job he knows is going to create a ruckus, the last thing I’m allowed to do is create division inside this building.

Both, offseason contract extensions, Prescott and Lamb chose very diplomatic ways to tackle this situation. It was indeed a direct attack from Troy Aikman, further bolstered by the GM/owner Jerry Jones echoing Aikman’s opinions. By choosing to stay away from the drama, Prescott also avoided a perspective conflict with Jones. Jones has been center stage for some recent drama including on-air firing threats and Derrick Henry comments.
