According to multiple reports, the Chiefs will send a fifth-round pick that can turn into a fourth-round pick to the Titans in exchange for the five-time Pro Bowler. This development comes amid the two-time defending champs’ injury crisis, with Rashee Rice, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown all out with respective issues.
The three-time All-Pro wide receiver joins the Chiefs to provide some much-needed help out wide as Hopkins looks to potentially make his debut for his new team — assuming that his current leg injury is not serious — on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Hopkins’ move away from Tennessee does not come as a complete shock considering how the 32-year-old saw his name dragged into trade rumors before Wednesday’s big news.
In fact, Hopkins himself appeared to acknowledge the trade buzz via an Instagram post he published on Sunday.
“Rumor has it…” the former Houston Texans star captioned his post as he shared a photo of himself dragging a suitcase.
Hopkins’ three-word post has now taken a new meaning after reports confirmed his blockbuster move to the Chiefs.

A lot of the previous comments bought in to the notion that Hopkins was referring to his trade rumors when he made this post. It has now quickly come back to life with a myriad of Chiefs fans jumping on the comments section to welcome the Clemson alum to his new team.
It’s very much possible that Hopkins was on to something already when he shared this post three days before his trade was announced.
