The Baltimore Ravens are rolling entering Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season, sporting a 5-2 record and on track for another playoff berth in the AFC.
The Ravens may not be the same defensive juggernaut they were last season, but they have struck more of a balance with a revamped offense that has been overwhelming teams thus far.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson is the early favorite to take home another NFL MVP award, while running back Derrick Henry has fit in seamlessly.
Defensively, the team could stand to get better play from its secondary, as opposing offenses have found it easier to move the football through the air.
Unfortunately, Baltimore could be without several defensive backs in Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns.
“On Saturday, we activated CB Jalyn Armour-Davis from Injured Reserve/Designated for Return and elevated CB Ryan ‘Bump’ Cooper Jr. from the practice squad (standard elevation). We also placed CB T.J. Tampa (ankle) on Injured Reserve. CB Nate Wiggins (shoulder/illness) is not traveling with the team to Cleveland, but his playing status for Sunday remains questionable,” the Ravens posted to X.
If rookies Tampa and Wiggins miss the game, it would thin out the secondary, though it might not matter against a struggling Browns offense.
Despite the injury concerns, Baltimore is considered a huge favorite against Cleveland on the road and should have no problem taking care of its AFC North rival.
