The Dallas Cowboys enter Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season with significant question marks looming. Following a 47-9 home loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6, they had the entire bye week to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.
Hopefully, they also had enough time to clear a few key injuries significantly impacting them. The biggest name being monitored is star pass-rusher Micah Parsons, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 4 against the New York Giants.
While Parsons wouldn’t go as far as stating that he’ll be back in action for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8, he did provide an update.

Parsons stated that his status for Week 8 is “still in the air,” according to The Athletic’s Jon Machota. He also said that his hopes are “very high.”
“Good, man. Rehabbing. Doing everything I possibly can to get back on the field,” Parsons said when asked how he felt.
“My hopes are always very high. I love great challenges. I love being able to beat the odds. I’m gonna put this up to my trainers and my coaching staff.”
The Cowboys are currently 3-3 after losing to the Lions. Having their two-time First-Team All-Pro back in action would go a long way toward the team righting the ship.
Dallas is featured in another primetime game on Sunday night against the 49ers and will travel to the Bay Area to face the team that eliminated them from the playoffs in two of the last three seasons. On a positive note for the Cowboys, all three of their victories this season have come on the road, while they’re a surprising 0-3 at home.
While Parsons sounds somewhat optimistic about a return, the next few days will be telling in regards to his chances of suiting up on Sunday.
