Anthony Davis described his emotions about the historical achievement of LeBron James and Bronny James after beating the Timberwolves.
Anthony Davis describes emotions after LeBron and Bronny James achievement.
For the last few years, Bronny James being drafted into the NBA and playing alongside his father, LeBron James, seemed far-fetched even for a fairytale. But as Bronny finally made his long-awaited NBA debut on Tuesday night, alongside his father in purple and gold, the story seemed too surreal to be true.
So much so that even fellow Lakers teammate Anthony Davis had difficulty processing the achievement. As the Lakers walked out of Crypto.com Arena with a well-earned win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, the celebrations revolved around the history created by the James family.
LeBron and Bronny became the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA, let alone on the same team. As the celebrations started to ring in, Anthony Davis addressed the emotions he felt in that moment during his post-game presser.

Bronny checked into the game during the second quarter. As he stood at the scorer’s table, he was joined by his father LeBron as the two officially prepared to step foot into an NBA game together for the first time. The historic moment was short-lived, as Lakers head coach JJ Reddick subbed out Bronny in just a couple of minutes. However, history was made nonetheless.
Davis went on to address the magnitude of the achievement by LeBron. He has been with the senior James for nearly half a decade. During this time, the 9x All-Star has been able to witness James create history on a number of occasions. Thankfully, as Davis remarked in his interview, this time, the Lakers ended on the winning side in a game where James secured a major career achievement.
Anthony Davis lights up the league in season opener
While the highlight of the night was LeBron James and Bronny James standing toe-to-toe on an NBA court, Anthony Davis almost stole the show. The Lakers Big Man absolutely scorched the Minnesota Timberwolves, leading the Lakers to a comfortable 110-103 victory.
Davis ended the game with a game-high 36 points, 16 boards, and three blocks on nearly 61% true shooting. The five-time All Defensive team nominee shut down the paint for the Wolves, stamping his claim as the best defender in the league.
Nothing marked the dominance of Davis greater than his thundering highlights on Rudy Gobert, which left the Frenchman stunned. Following the game, Davis made his intentions clear about his goals for this season.
In a postgame interview, Davis claimed that he’s aiming for the DPOY award. The Lakeshow will now await the Phoenix Suns, who will take on the Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena in a Saturday night primetime game.
