The Baltimore Ravens have completely turned around their 2024 season. After a brutal 0-2 start, Baltimore has rattled off four straight wins to get to 4-2 on the season and currently in first place in the AFC North. Baltimore has long been rumored to be interested in adding wide receiver help for Lamar Jackson, and now it could be coming in a huge way.
Ravens Suddenly Expected To Land Elite Pass Catcher For Lamar Jackson
Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department highlighted a few moves that need to happen for each team. Stefon Diggs joining the Ravens was on the list:
The Washington Commanders have spent the first six weeks of the season proving they are a legitimate playoff team in the NFC. The Ravens utilized their matchup with the upstart Commanders to remind everyone they are to be taken seriously as well. Lamar Jackson attacked the Commanders defense with ruthless efficiency, and Zay Flowers wrecked the secondary with nine receptions for 132 yards.
It’s just another example that the Ravens offense can win in multiple ways. Derrick Henry continued rolling with 132 yards on the ground, and Baltimore was able to take advantage of the extra effort and focus he draws from opposing teams.
2025 Free Agency: WR Stefon Diggs, Houston Texans
The Houston Texans wiped out the final three years of Stefon Diggs’ contract when they traded for him this offseason. It made his run with the Texans a one-year trial period, and it might not go further than that after they extended Nico Collins.
If the former Maryland standout hits the open market, then he could be a fun fit in Baltimore. The team has an emerging star at tight end in Isaiah Likely, and Zay Flowers is an electric underneath receiver. Diggs could fit in as the vertical outside receiver.
This type of acquisition in free agency would be massive for Baltimore. Establishing a true number one long term wide receiver for Lamar Jackson has been a struggle for Baltimore as of late. It will be interesting to see if they try their hand at any trades before the 2024 deadline.
