The Dallas Cowboys may need to do something drastic to put some fire back into their season. Dallas is currently 3-3 through their first six games with a road contest against the reigning NFC Champions (San Francisco 49ers) up next.
With the 2024 NFL Trade deadline just a few weeks away, Dallas is suddenly being named a landing spot for a franchise altering playmaker.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report highlighted how star defensive end Myles Garrett could wind up in Dallas:
- Cleveland Browns receive:
- 2025 first-round pick
- 2026 first-round pick
- 2025 third-round pick
- 2026 third-round pick
- Dallas Cowboys receive:
- Edge Myles Garrett
In wake of their third consecutive 12-5 campaign that ended with an early playoff exit, the Dallas Cowboys surprisingly elected to run it back with largely the same cast as last year. That quiet offseason hasn’t been paying off for the organization, which is now sitting at 3-3 and third place in a relatively weak NFC East.
Although offensive woes are certainly at least partially responsible for this tepid start—the Cowboys are a meager No. 12 in yardage and No. 20 in scoring after finishing top-five in both last season—the defense has taken an even larger step back in 2024.
A number of the team’s star pass rushers, including Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, are suffering from significant injuries. As one of the best NFL pass rushers, Garrett has registered double-digit sacks in six consecutive seasons.
In 16 starts in 2023, he recorded 42 tackles, 30 quarterback hits, 17 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles. Garrett has 17 tackles, 9 quarterback hits, 7 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles through seven games in 2024.
This trade would be difficult to pull off, but would be massive for the direction of Dallas’ defense.
