The San Francisco 49ers fell short in their Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs, 28-18, on Sunday.
The 49ers still haven’t won back-to-back games this season and dropped to 3-4. The Chiefs, on the other hand, remained unblemished in six games.
Apart from the defeat, the 49ers are hobbling, with several key players on the injured list. Christian McCaffrey has yet to suit up because of his Achilles tendinitis. Brandon Aiyuk is out for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL and MCL. George Kittle is bothered by a sprained foot.
Most recently, Deebo Samuel was added to the list as he is dealing with fluid in his lungs and pneumonia. He tried to play against the Chiefs but left the game in the second quarter after having difficulty breathing. He checked in to the hospital later that evening.
Amid his troubling condition, the 49ers star still found the energy to blast NFL Fantasy owners and online bettors.
“These media folks and twitter finger mf fantasy owners, all that, idc about your fantasy teams, your parlays, nothing,” wrote Samuel on X on Sunday. “Have a great night! UnoGood!”
The tweet has been deleted, but NFL outlet MLFootball managed to get a screenshot and shared it on X.
The 28-year-old Samuel was limited to only four snaps against the Chiefs.
In a report from ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said there’s no timeline yet for the Pro Bowler’s return but noted that his status could get more clarification soon.
“I think it started acting up in the middle of the night Saturday night or early Sunday morning and then it just kind of evolved as the day went,” said Shanahan.
