Taylor Swift had a special delivery for Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy ahead of her Eras Tour concert in Miami over the weekend.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared a handwritten note Taylor Swift had sent him when he attended her show Saturday.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter made a friendly gesture to the media mogul at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium after he took to her defense more than a month ago.
“What a gift from @taylorswift to @stoolpresidente at last night’s Eras Tour,” the caption read on Instagram.
Taylor wrote “Dave!” on the front of a white envelope, “Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight!” the pop star, 34, wrote in the letter. “I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t.
“I hope you have a blast tonight!! Love, Taylor,” she concluded, signing the note along with a heart.
The social media personality is a controversial figure, having been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct and having a history of misogynistic “humor” and sexist attacks against women working in sports media.
This message from Taylor Swift to him won’t go over well with many in her fan base.
She likely never thought he would put the letter on social media for all to see.
Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Hits Back at Taylor Swift Claim
Following her endorsement of Kamala Harris as president in 2024, Taylor Swift sent a handwritten letter to Barstool Sports founder and owner Dave Portnoy ahead of one of her concerts.
For those unaware, Portnoy has been outspoken about the fact he’s voting for Republican nominee Donald Trump.
He’s also a major Swift fan, who stated she is voting for Kamala Harris.
On Sunday, Portnoy spoke about his experience going to his second Swift concert and also touched on a woman posting about him online.
“It was an amazing night and I should be on cloud nine but this girl kind of went viral recently, trashing me, ‘Swifties should hate this guy, more importantly, Taylor’s camp hates Dave, they never talked to him [or] reached out,’” Portnoy said in the clip.
“They said I’ve never been to a concert, not true, this is my second one of the Eras Tour. But it should have been a night of celebration, like, this girl though, kind of raining on my parade, being like, ‘They don’t like you,’ this that.”
He would then add a video in that clip that referred to a woman claiming Swift’s team has never reached out to Portnoy, Barstool Sports, or anything associated with the businessman, claiming he is a “performative Swiftie.”
“I did get the VIP section, which was amazing. You know, I wanted to come on and talk about this letter that Austin Swift, her brother—the 13 there, I obviously opened it—hand-delivered to me in the VIP section from Taylor,” Portnoy continued.
“But this girl is like, ‘Ooh, Taylor hates him, they don’t want him there, they don’t like him.’ This letter from Taylor herself that was hand-delivered to me in the VIP section.”
