“This is mine”: Robbie Williams gives Toni Kroos the “wrong” award
At the BAMBI 2024, Toni Kroos will be honored in the “Sport” category. He will receive the golden deer from singer Robbie Williams – who caused a funny incident during the ceremony.
The glamorous BAMBI awards ceremony once again offered emotional highlights – but also some funny moments. Like Robbie Williams (50), who opened the event with his song “Better Man” and awarded a special prize to his friend Toni Kroos (34). The two men respect each other very much and get along well.
Williams honored Kroos with the BAMBI in the “Sport” category. But there was a funny mix-up. Robbie Williams accidentally presented his own BAMBI, which he had just received in the “Entertainment” category. The singer immediately noticed his mistake and quickly said “That’s mine,” before finally giving Kroos the correct BAMBI.
Toni Kroos unusually open: “A bit overwhelmed”

In his acceptance speech, former national player Toni Kroos was unusually open. “I was a bit overwhelmed. Red carpets aren’t really my thing.” But the ex-DFB star is of course happy to make an exception for the BAMBI. “Who is as privileged and has a life like mine?” said Toni Kroos, explaining that he was accepting the award on behalf of his foundation.
At the end of his speech, Kroos struck a serious tone – without wanting to get too political, because he was “not made for that”. He appealed to the stars in the room, who all have many fans and great influence, to do good in such dark times and to set a positive example.
