A frustrated Jude Bellingham kicks a water bottle after being substituted in Real Madrid’s Champions League loss to AC Milan.

In the 74th minute of the match between Real Madrid and AC Milan, coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to take Jude Bellingham off and replace him with Rodrygo. Having to leave the field early made Bellingham unable to hide his disappointment, the English star even kicked a water bottle out of the sideline.

In this match, Bellingham played with great effort but could not score or assist, while Real Madrid suffered a 1-3 defeat right at home at the Bernabeu.

In the 2024/25 season, the 21-year-old player has only contributed 3 assists after 12 matches in all competitions and has not scored any goals. Therefore, it is understandable why he is impatient when he continues to go through 90 minutes “without a goal”.

The appearance of Kylian Mbappe made Real Madrid’s line more crowded, forcing coach Carlo Ancelotti to play Bellingham deeper to take advantage of the trio of Mbappe, Vinicius and Rodrygo. As a result, the English player could no longer maintain the explosive form of the 2023/24 season (23 goals and 13 assists after 42 matches).

Vinicius scolded the referee, fortunate to escape a red card

Vinicius was a rare “bright spot” for Real in this match with a goal from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute. However, the Brazilian star could not help the Bernabeu team avoid defeat.

In the 70th minute, when Real were trailing 1-2, Vinicius was fouled by Yunus Musah of AC Milan. The 24-year-old star then turned to the main referee Slavko Vincic and reacted violently, constantly complaining: “You are”. As a result, the Slovenian referee decided to give the Real star a yellow card.

This is not the first time Vinicius has reacted without restraint on the pitch. Even commenting on AS, former referee Iturralde said that the Brazilian player “should have been sent off for this kind of behavior”.
