Robert Lewandowski, player of the month in La Liga for October
The Polish striker has been chosen by La Liga for his exploits in the league, the third blaugrana win in a row
First it was Raphinha, second Lamine Yamal and now it is the turn of Robert Lewandowski to be named player of the month in La Liga. The Polish takes the award, given out by the Spanish Football League, for the month of October, following on from the win for the Brazilian in August and the teenage forward in September. There is no doubt that theBarça front three are in vogue.
The month has been a successful one for the blaugranes with regards to La Liga awards: Pedri was named best U23 player and Hansi Flick best coach for October.
A hat-trick against Alavés, two goals against Sevilla and another two against Real Madrid in the Clásico saw Lewandowski grab an imposing total of seven in October, strengthening his lead in the race to become ‘Pichichi’, top scorer in La Liga.
The Polish striker is in great form not just in La Liga having also found the net three time over the last four weeks in the Champions League.
Three out of three
Barça have monopolised the award this season with Raphinha and Lamine Yamal being named best player prior to their Polish team mate. If the three continue their current form then surely it will not be last award they claim in the 2024/25 La Liga season.
