Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi has shared his honest thoughts on his experience in Major League Soccer (MLS). The 37-year-old striker is currently playing for Inter Miami .

In a recent interview with respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, Messi admitted to underestimating the passion for soccer in the United States, especially when compared to other popular sports in the land of the stars and stripes.

Messi shared: “ I was really surprised by the passion for football here, because before that I only heard about the passion for basketball, baseball and American football. I thought the love for football in America would be less passionate.”
