Real Madrid icon Toni Kroos reacts to Vinícius Jr.’s rejection of the Ballon d’Or
The fact that current Blancos star Vinícius Jr. will not be receiving the Ballon d’Or has been discussed by former Real Madrid player Toni Kroos.
Naturally, the topic of the “Golden Ball” has dominated the news of the day thus far in football around the worldwide arena.
During the awards ceremony, the former Real Madrid player posted a photo alongside the Brazilian with a simple caption: “the best”. In a comment, Vini Jr. responded to the German saying that he loves him: “I love you, Antonio”
Following the announcement that the longtime favorite for the award, Vinícius, had been passed over, this comes now.
Rather, it is understood that Rodri, a midfielder for Manchester City, will be awarded the 2024 game’s best player tonight.
Since then, the news of Vinícius’ last-minute has generated a lot of discussion in the football community, with most people agreeing that France Football has been a little harsh on the Brazilian.
It was therefore not when the topic of his former teammate’s high-profile snub was brought up with the aforementioned Toni Kroos during his own media appearance on Monday night.
The legendary midfielder Kroos then downplayed the significance of the Ballon d’Or in his answer, saying:
“The Ballon d’Or will go to Rodri.” These individual awards have no place in football, and I’ve never understood their significance.
