Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid will not play in his team’s UEFA Champions League trip to Liverpool on Wednesday. The winger participated throughout the entirety of Sunday’s 3-0 La Liga triumph for Real Madrid, but the team has subsequently acknowledged that he suffered a hamstring injury. Carlo Ancelotti’s team, presently ranked 18th out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings, has suffered a significant setback due to the Brazilian’s absence.

Vinicius Junior will not play for Real Madrid against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The Brazilian winger did not make the team to go to Merseyside, despite playing the entire ninety minutes of Sunday’s La Liga match over Leganes, which Madrid won 3-0.

Carlo Ancelotti’s club, which is presently ranked 18th out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings, will play a Liverpool team that hasn’t lost a game yet.

On Monday, Real Madrid issued the following statement: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Vini Jr. by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”

The 24-year-old’s exclusion from the squad was confirmed shortly after the club announced their 19-man roster for the trip to Anfield.
