Four New York Yankees players have been named finalists for the American League Silver Slugger.
MLB announced the finalists at each position for the Silver Slugger Award on Monday. Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Gleyber Torres, and Giancarlo Stanton were all named as finalists in their positions. The Yankees were also nominated alongside the Baltimore Orioles for the Team of the Year Silver Slugger.
Soto and Judge make up 40 percent of the outfield nominees in the AL. They are competing with Jarren Duran, Riley Greene, and Anthony Santander for the three Silver Slugger awards given to outfielders.
Judge led the majors in a number of categories. His 58 home runs, 144 RBIs, .458 on-base percentage, .701 slugging percentage, 1.159 OPS, and 10.8 WAR led MLB during the regular season.
Soto set career highs with 41 home runs and 166 hits during the season. He also drove in 109 runs, had a .989 OPS, and 7.9 wins above replacement in the two-hole of the Yankees’ batting order.
Torres is competing against Jose Altuve, Colt Keith, and Marcus Semien for the honor at second base. He hit 15 home runs and had 63 RBIs during the year. Torres also led off for the Bronx Bombers from the beginning of August through the World Series.
Stanton will fight Brent Rooker and Yordan Alvarez for the Silver Slugger at DH. He hit 27 homers and 72 RBIs despite only playing in 114 games.
The Yankees are tied with the Houston Astros for the most nominees in the American League.
