Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman continued his hitting streak in Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday night.
Going 1-for-4 with a walk and a clutch two-RBI single, Freeman helped the Dodgers to a 7-6 win, clinching the franchise’s eighth World Series title and his first World Series MVP award.
The 35-year-old slugger, who battled through an ankle sprain suffered in September, finished the series against the New York Yankees batting .300 with four home runs and 12 RBI, including an iconic walk-off grand slam in Game 1 at Dodger Stadium.
On Thursday, Freeman’s wife, Chelsea Freeman, took to Instagram with a series of photos showing the couple embracing on the field after the game.
“My 2X World Champion !!!! #MVP” she captioned the post, which was liked over 40,000 times in under two hours.
In a separate Instagram story, she also wrote, “Wow. No words. Just so dang proud. What a freaking year!”
Fans couldn’t get enough of the social media highlights.
“OUR POWER COUPLE 😍💙💙💙💙💙🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆” one fan commented on IG.
“Best looking couple in the MLB,” another wrote.
“MLBS favorite couple 💙🤍” a fan echoed.
The Freemans got married in Nov. 2014 after first meeting in 2011.
