The New York Yankees got their first win of the World Series with an 11-4 victory over the Las Angeles Dodgers in Game 4.
The Yankees avoided a sweep and found some offensive firepower on Tuesday night while on the brink of elimination.
However, the story of the game was the viral fan interference call with Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts.
In the first inning, Betts caught a fly ball in foul territory in right field and the fan was seen trying to take the ball out of his glove.
In turn, the umpires ruled it a catch and security proceeded to take the fans out of the stadium.
After the game, Betts was asked about the situation with the fans, although he did not want to get into that conversation, per Arash Markazi.
“When it comes to the first inning play, it doesn’t matter,” Betts said. “We lost. It’s irrelevant. I’m fine, He’s fine. Everything’s cool. We lost the game and that’s what I’m focused on.”
Betts said he did not get hurt and insisted “everything’s fine” regarding the incident in the first inning.
Despite the controversy, the Dodgers star didn’t want to talk about the play and instead focused on the outcome which was the first LA loss of the World Series.
The Dodgers now have a 3-1 series lead with Game 5 set for Wednesday night in the Bronx.
