Novak Djokovic and Neymar went head-to-head in a fun ‘who knows the other person better’ quiz. The quiz contained questions related to the professional careers of both athletes, who have enjoyed massive success.
The Serb, who was recently in Saudi Arabia for the inaugural Six Kings Slam exhibition event, attended Al-Hilal’s match against Al-Feiha on October 18. He donned the blue colors of Al-Hilal to show his support for his countrymen Aleksander Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as they clinched a comfortable 3-0 win.
He also met up with their star player Neymar, who gave a special team jersey to the Serb, and the two players also sat down for a fun quiz which was posted on Al-Hilal’s Instagram.
Up first was Neymar, who was questioned about the 37-year-old’s hometown, the number of Grand Slam triumphs, his favorite Major, the number of Olympic golds, and his biggest rivals.
The Brazilian stunned the 24-time Major champion with his knowledge and answered all of the questions flawlessly.
Next up was Djokovic, who initially struggled when asked Neymar’s full name. However, he bounced back to answer the number of Champions Leagues titles he won, clubs he played for before joining Al-Hilal, professional matches he has played, and the number of goals for Brazil.
“The historic Neymar against Djokovic. A luxurious challenge of another kind,” the post was captioned (translated from Arabic).
It is no secret to tennis fans that the former World No. 1 is a huge football fan and has been supporting other clubs and meeting up with football stars.
“Neymar signed Tara’s jersey” – When Novak Djokovic hilariously revealed how his daughter knew the Brazilian superstar
During an interview with Tennis Majors last year, Novak Djokovic shared about his and his daughter Tara’s meetup with Neymar and Lionel Messi ahead of the 2023 French Open. The two football stars were a part of Paris Saint-Germain back then.
The Serb said that the Brazilian signed Tara’s jersey but interestingly, his daughter didn’t really know who Neymar was and only knew through a song that her friend used to sing.
“Neymar signed Tara’s jersey, but it’s an interesting story,” he said. “She doesn’t follow sports much but she has a school friend who is half-Brazilian-half Serbian – that girl dances all the time to this song about Neymar. That’s why she wanted to meet him badly.”
He then recounted his experience of meeting two of football’s legends.
“It was my first time meeting them in person – they are great champions. It was a pleasure and an honor to meet them, especially Messi, a player who left an extraordinary mark in the history of football.”
On the tennis side of things, Novak Djokovic ended up third at the Six Kings Slam after defeating his rival Rafael Nadal and then decided to withdraw from the 2024 Paris Masters.
The Serb’s next outing may come at the Nitto ATP Finals, provided he manages to clinch a spot.
