The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0defeated the\u00a0New Orleans Saints\u00a0back on October 7 by the score of\u00a026-13. Before yesterday, it was just one more expected win in what is currently a 9-0 start to the 2024 NFL season. Chiefs quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes\u00a0completed 28 of 39 passes for 331 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. As of this writing, it is the only 300+ yard passing game for Mahomes this season.<\/p>\n

Even though he did not lead the Chiefs in receiving yards in this game (Juju Smith Schuster had seven receptions for 130 yards),\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0had a team-high eight receptions and a very respectable 70 yards.<\/p>\n

What makes these performances by their biggest stars even more remarkable is what happened in their homes just hours before the game.<\/p>\n

Even though this occurred over a month ago, it was just recently reported that the homes of Mahomes and Kelce were burglarized in the hours before their game against the Saints.\u00a0Per a report, police responded to Mahomes\u2019 house around midnight in the wee hours of the morning of the game, and to Kelce\u2019s house just minutes before kickoff.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce\u2019s Kansas City-area houses were burglarized last month TMZ Sports has learned.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office documents we obtained, the burglary at Mahomes\u2019 extravagant Belton, Missouri estate was reported to cops at around midnight on Oct. 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources familiar with the situation tell us Kelce\u2019s Leawood, Kansas mansion was broken into just hours later \u2026 on Oct. 7 \u2014 the same day the Chiefs took on the Saints in a \u201cMonday Night Football\u201d matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While there are no details as to what was taken from Mahomes\u2019 house, it has been confirmed that $20,000 in cash was among what was stolen from Kelce\u2019s mansion.<\/p>\n

Now that the burglaries have been made public knowledge, Mahomes was asked about the incident at his home during his press conference on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Per Marleah Campbell of\u00a0KCTV5<\/em>, Mahomes referred to the burglary as both \u201cfrustrating\u201d and \u201cdisappointing.\u201d However, he would not speak more on the topic as the investigation is still ongoing.<\/p>\n
