he\u00a02022 World Cup in Qatar<\/strong>\u00a0was one of the highlights for\u00a0Lionel Messi<\/strong>, as he led\u00a0the Argentine national team<\/strong>\u00a0on the field to win its third world title, so the nagging question is whether we will see\u00a0the Argentine star at the 2026 World Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an interview with 433, Messi said that while he would like to be part of the next World Cup, the Inter Miami striker wants to be in good shape, so he wants to take things easy in MLS.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been asked about this many times, especially in Argentina. I hope to finish this year well and have a good pre-season, which I missed last year because of all the travelling. From there, I’ll see how I feel.”<\/p>\n

Messi suffered an injury in the Copa America final, which kept him out of action for two months, so the Rosario native wants to take it step by step to reach 2026 without serious injuries.<\/p>\n

“I don’t think about it. There’s a long way to go and a lot of things can happen in football. I just live day to day without looking beyond that.”<\/p>\n

Does Messi want to be a coach?<\/h2>\n

The Argentine also revealed that while some players choose to become coaches after retiring from the pitch, the former Barcelona and PSG striker does not see himself from the bench of a team.<\/p>\n
