The final ATP Masters 1000 event ended in Bercy this week, with third seed Alexander Zverev crowned the champion. The Bercy event saw some shift in ATP rankings.<\/p>\n

Zverev had a great run at the 2024 Paris Masters, getting past the likes of Tallon Griekspoor, Arthur Fils, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Holger Rune to reach his second Masters 1000 final of the season. In the summit clash, he faced local favorite\u00a0Ugo Humbert\u00a0and registered a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win to clinch his second title of the season.<\/p>\n

The win got the German player 910 points, taking his overall tally to 7715. This saw him replace\u00a0Carlos Alcaraz\u00a0as the World No. 2. The Spaniard dropped to No. 3 after his Round of 16 loss in Bercy against Humbert.<\/p>\n

Another significant movement in the rankings was Novak Djokovic dropping out from the Top 4. The Serbian was the champion at the Paris Masters last year and had 1000 points to defend this edition. However, since he withdrew from the event this year, he dropped 1000 points and slipped to 5th on the rankings with 5210 points, with\u00a0Daniil Medvedev\u00a0taking the 4th spot.<\/p>\n

Ugo Humbert had a great run in his hometown, reaching his maiden Masters 1000 final. The Frenchman rode a wave of crowd support and defeated players like Barndon Nakashima, Marcos Giron, Carlos Alcaraz, Jordan Thompson, and Karen Khachanov. The win earned him 605 points as he moved from 18th to 14th on the rankings, with 2990 points.<\/p>\n

There were other shifts in the top 10 of the ATP Rankings after the Paris Masters<\/h2>\n

Andrey Rublev and Grigor Dimitrov lost 250 and 400 points respectively in Bercy. Rublev was last year’s semifinalist, and Dimitrov was last year’s runner-up. However, this year, the Russian lost to\u00a0Francisco Cerundolo\u00a0in the second round, and the Bulgarian lost to Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinal. As a result, Rublev slipped to 9th on the rankings, and Dimitrov from 9th to 10th.<\/p>\n

The duo’s drop in rankings saw Casper Ruud rise from 8th to 7th and Alex de Minaur rise from 10th to 8th.\u00a0Taylor Fritz\u00a0remained at No. 6, whereas Jannik Sinner maintained the top position even after dropping 90 points (he withdrew from Bercy) with 11320 points.<\/p>\n

With the race to the ATP Finals heating up, the Rublev, De Minaur, and Ruud trio is in an intense battle to lock up the three remaining slots in Turin.
