Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Justin Fields\u00a0wouldn\u2019t be where he is today without the support of his parents, Ivant \u201cPablo\u201d Fields and Gina Tobey.<\/p>\n

Former college football player and resource officer Ivant and sales\/relationship manager Gina welcomed their son Justin on Mar. 5, 1999, in Kennesaw, Ga. Justin is also close with his stepmother Jo Ann Fields, with whom Ivant shares two children: softball star Jaiden Fields and budding college basketball star Jessica Fields.<\/p>\n

Justin Fields took after Ivant by playing college football, playing for both Georgia and Ohio, winning two Big Ten offensive player of the year awards and leading Ohio to the 2021 National Championship Game. Following his example of playing as a linebacker for Eastern Kentucky, serving in the military and working in law enforcement, Ivant challenged Justin to be the best he could be on and off the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was definitely very hard on me in terms of how I treated other people outside of [his] house, my respect for others and made me into the man I am today,\u201d Justin told\u00a0ESPN\u00a0in 2021.<\/p>\n

As a highly touted NFL prospect, Justin was drafted by the\u00a0Chicago Bears\u00a0in the first round of the\u00a02021 NFL Draft\u00a0\u2014 where he would go on to set the single-game rushing yards record for a quarterback \u2014 before being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always challenged him when he was young. I played classical music in the crib, you know, and even before he was born because they say that that expands the brain and renews parts of the brain that you typically wouldn\u2019t use,\u201d Gina said in\u00a0Justin Fields: From Unranked QB to the Face of the Chicago Bears.<\/em><\/p>\n
