Russell Wilson is now 2-0 as the starting quarterback of the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers\u00a0following a 26-18 Week 8 win over the\u00a0New York Giants\u00a0on “Monday Night Football.”<\/p>\n

Although Wilson has looked like a guy who can lead the Steelers to the promised land through two weeks after his return from a calf injury, linebacker T.J. Watt remains the best player on the 6-2 Pittsburgh squad, and that proved true against the Giants.<\/p>\n

To honor his stellar play against New York, the\u00a0NFL\u00a0revealed that Watt has been named Week 8’s\u00a0AFC Defensive Player of the Week. However, Watt is not the only Steeler to get an award on Wednesday, as wide receiver Calvin Austin III was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after taking a 73-yard punt return to the house.<\/p>\n

Following the news, Wilson took to social media to send a congratulatory message to Watt on his Instagram story.<\/p>\n

“No One Better,” Wilson said to Watt on his story.<\/p>\n

Watt won this award after recording seven total tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His second sack of the game came with under three minutes to play as the Giants were looking to tie the game in the red zone. The former\u00a0Wisconsin Badgers\u00a0star stripped quarterback\u00a0Daniel Jones\u00a0of the ball and jumped on top of it.<\/p>\n

In his second game after taking over the starting quarterback spot for\u00a0Justin Fields, Wilson completed 20-of-28 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown while adding seven yards on the ground.<\/p>\n

With the win, the Steelers now hold sole possession of first place in the AFC North, which was aided by the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0falling to the\u00a0Cleveland Browns\u00a029-24.<\/p>\n
