FRISCO – Dallas\u00a0Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey found himself the subject of some good-natured punchlines in recent days as he\u00a0fulfilled his jury duty responsibilities starting a week ago, when he was selected to serve on a 12-person jury in Tarrant County. The assignment led to him having missed five days of practice with the team, requiring him to get in his kicking work alongside his special-teams helpers after-hours here inside The Star.<\/div>\n

But the court case itself is no laughing matter. It’s over now, as the Pro Bowl kicker Aubrey and the other members of the jury in Tarrant County\u2019s 297th District Court heard a domestic violence strangulation case.<\/p>\n

And in the end, a man named Daniel Rincones was found guilty on one of two charges, the\u00a0Fort Worth Star-Telegram<\/em>\u00a0reports, and the court sentenced Rincones to 65 years in prison for a felony charge of assault.<\/p>\n

Rincones is reportedly a repeat offender. He was previously was arrested in July 2015 and found guilty in February 2019 of aggravated sexual assault. Both of Rincones\u2019 offenses were committed against a member of his household, making his acts ones of domestic violence.<\/p>\n

<\/picture><\/a>Aubrey, who traveled with the team to Northern California on Saturday and played against the 49ers in Dallas’ 30-24 loss on Sunday night, made his only field goal attempt and all three extra points in that game. He will be back to regular work at The Star on Thursday.<\/p>\n
