Here are three observations from the Miami Heat\u2019s 106-98 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night at Kaseya Center.<\/p>\n

They got a ton of good looks<\/h2>\n

Of Miami\u2019s 47 3-point attempts, an astounding 41 were considered open or wide open, according to NBA.com\u2019s tracking data. But the Heat converted on just 13 of them, or 31.7%.<\/p>\n

It could be easy to get bogged down in the misses, especially after the Heat scored just 14 points and briefly lost the lead in a third quarter that saw them miss 10 of their 12 3-point attempts.<\/p>\n

But the process was good. Chances are that if the Heat could get a do-over of that third period, this game would have burst open and turned into a blowout. Tyler Herro, in particular, would like a few of these back. He missed four straight 3s in the first five minutes of the second half, all of them open, catch-and-shoot looks.<\/p>\n
