Patrick and Brittany Mahomes reportedly want\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/span>\u00a0to be the godparents for their new baby.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0The Sun, the\u00a0Kansas<\/span>\u00a0City Chiefs quarterback and his wife have Travis and Taylor as the first choice ahead of the arrival of their third child, a girl, early in the new year.<\/p>\n

‘Patrick and Brittany love to spend time with Travis and Taylor.\u00a0They see them as the best people to be the godfather and godmother of the next child,’ the publication quoted a source as saying.<\/p>\n

Patrick and Brittany’s two young children, Sterling and Bronze, are said to be fond of the power couple – something which helped the Mahomes family reach the decision.<\/p>\n

It comes after Patrick recently revealed that\u00a0Swift had been baking cakes with his daughter<\/span>, Sterling.<\/p>\n

Swift was recently pictured at a Chiefs game with her hand on Brittany Mahomes’ baby bump<\/p>\n

The source said: ‘The kids love Travis and call him “Uncle Travis”. Taylor is already considered their auntie, too. She is so sweet with them, and they love her.’<\/p>\n

Patrick recently said of his daughter spending time with Taylor: ‘She (Swift) has never made something for me but she\u2019s made different treats that have been around my house \u2014 muffins and donuts and stuff like that.<\/p>\n

‘Sterling’s a big baker as well, so they make some stuff together sometimes. I’m not gonna say I don’t eat them.’<\/p>\n

The news comes amid fears of a fallout between\u00a0Taylor and Brittany due to the latter’s public support of Donald Trump\u00a0<\/span>at next month’s election – a view at odds with Swift who has publicly backed Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n

Taylor and Brittany have not sat together as often at Chiefs games this season – they appeared to be inseparable last year- but the couples did head to New York together for the men’s US Open final in September.<\/p>\n

But Swift was recently tagged in a picture with her hand on Mahomes’ baby bump after watching the Chiefs beat New Orleans Saints on October 7.<\/p>\n

‘They love the fact that they share many of the same values, even if they can have different opinions on some topics,’ the source added.<\/p>\n

‘They are more than friends, they are family members which is the most important thing of all.’<\/p>\n

Swift and Kelce were also joined by Patrick and Brittany\u00a0at the singer’s Rhode Island mansion<\/span>\u00a0back in August once the singer returned from her four-month tour of Europe.<\/p>\n

On the football field, Kelce and Mahomes have helped\u00a0the Chiefs to an unbeaten 6-0 start to the season\u00a0<\/span>in pursuit of an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title.<\/p>\n

This Sunday, they face the Raiders in Las Vegas looking to extend that winning run, with\u00a0DeAndre Hopkins set to play his first game for the Chiefs after this week’s trade from Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n
