The tight end, 35, has grown out his facial hair before NFL training camp over the last couple of seasons, three of which resulted in Super Bowl wins.<\/p>\n

Given the success, Kelce\u00a0told People\u00a0he has no plans on shaving\u00a0his Andy Reid-inspired \u2018stache\u00a0anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grow out the \u2018stache every training camp \u2014 or at least I have the past three or four years since we\u2019ve been making these title runs in honor of coach Andy Reid,\u201d he told the outlet, noting that \u201ca couple of the offensive linemen and a couple of the skill players on the offense all did it the first year\u201d too.<\/p>\n

The tight end credited his mustache for the Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 success.Getty Images<\/span>Although it started as a \u201cfunny\u201d joke, the superstitious star was forced to \u201ckeep the tradition alive\u201d since they kept winning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s always magic to the stache,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s an aura around it. It just brings success.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020, 2023 and 2024. With a 6-0 start to the ongoing season, the team is gunning to earn their third consecutive title come February 2025.<\/p>\n

Although the athlete typically starts the year with a \u2018stache, it usually\u00a0morphs into a full \u201crugged\u201d beard\u00a0by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is the walrus!\u201d Kelce said of the legendary coach. \u201cHe\u2019s got that thing looking beautiful every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n

In July 2024, the NFL star\u00a0returned to training camp with his signature \u2018stache\u00a0after\u00a0rocking a well-manicured beard\u00a0for most of the off-season.<\/p>\n

When asked about the switch-up on\u00a0his hit \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast,\u00a0Kelce replied, \u201cWell I always do the Andy Reid special, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t\u00a0got the buzz cut,\u201d\u00a0he said. \u201cI\u2019m not as super trooper.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelce said his longer locks made him feel \u201ckind of like a different character with the \u2018stache.\u201d<\/p>\n
