Leicester named Ruud van Nistelrooy as the club\u2019s new manager on Friday, just weeks after his departure from Manchester United.<\/p>\n

The Dutchman left United earlier this month after a short spell as interim boss and previously serving as assistant to Erik ten Hag.<\/p>\n

Leicester\u00a0sacked Steve Cooper on Sunday after just 12 Premier League games in charge, with the Foxes 16th in the table and only one point above the relegation zone.<\/p>\n

Leicester stun the world to win the Premier League in 2015\/16 and lifted the FA Cup for the first time five years later.<\/p>\n

But they were relegated from the top tier two years ago before bouncing back at the first attempt under now Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.<\/p>\n

Two of Van Nistelrooy\u2019s three wins in four games as United\u2019s caretaker manager came against Leicester in the League Cup and Premier League.<\/p>\n

The 48-year-old has previous managing experience, having spent a year in command of PSV Eindhoven in 2022\/23.<\/p>\n

He will not begin his duties until Sunday, putting a caretaker squad led by Ben Dawson in charge of Saturday\u2019s game against Brentford, although Van Nistelrooy will attend.<\/p>\n
